Mapping Weak Earthquakes →
Researchers can now identify weak earthquakes within the continental U.S. with EarthScope’s USArray project, a network of 400 high-quality seismographs spaced every 70 kilometers. Each of these stations is temporarily installed at a given location for about two years and then assigned a new location as the footprint of the network moves from west to east in a regular grid pattern.
